My name is James. I am an Assistant Professor I (Professorial Track) in Comparative Politics & International Relations at the Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU).
I am the Programme Leader (Head) of the Politics & Public Administration Programme at HKMU. I am also a Research Fellow in the Public & Social Policy Research Centre at HKMU.
Recently, I was awarded both the the prestigious CUHK Vice-Chancellor's Exemplary Teaching Award (2021) for Outstanding Teaching, alongside the CUHK Faculty of Social Sciences Exemplary Teaching Award (2021) for Outstanding Teaching.
I was Ranked First in the Faculty of Social Sciences at CUHK for my outstanding teaching in 2021.

I am an Adjunct Lecturer (Professor) in the MSSc in Greater China Programme at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. I am also a Senior Research Fellow at CARR and a Research Fellow at the Global Europe Centre (University of Kent/Brussels School of International Studies) and the Center for Research & Social Progress in Italy.
